Robert Hughes is the oldest of three children born to Robert L. Hughes, II and Ruth Francis Isabell. Robert and his two sisters, Armae and Charlie Maude, were adopted at an early age by Debbarah G. McAfee Davis. She instilled in the children the values of going to church and choosing the right paths in life. Robert's humble beginnings started in the church choir. He was enticed to sing by his sister, Armae, who is well known for her vocal abilities. Without much ability but a lot of eagerness, Robert turned to his sister to help him build the experience, ability and confidence needed to sing in front of people. After a few years, Robert decided to try out for his elementary school's talent contest with a couple of his friends. After weeks of rehearsal, the stage was set to begin what would be the cornerstone of young Robert's life: singing in front of live audiences. The thrill of anticipation and then following through with a plan was born in Robert that very day. From there, Robert went on to his Junior High talent shows, gaining approval and notoriety within his school. Robert and his sister, Armae were a force to be reckoned with. Although they've never officially sang together or has never competed against each other amongst their peers, Robert and Armae showed great respect for the other's abilities. Robert began winning talent contests in Junior High and High School. In his Senior year, Robert was voted "Most Talented" in his graduating class. This seemed to light a fire in his heart. But being young and not knowing what to do with that fire almost proved detrimental to his career in singing. Then by fate, he joined the United States Air Force. A new world of opportunity was opened up to Robert as he found out about the many levels of competitions and, most importantly, the Air Force Talent tours. After many awards and accolades, the ultimate award for him was being selected for two of the most coveted tours in the Air Force...Stars Of Sound Productions and Tops In Blue. These programs became his goals. Everything was centered around making these two tours. And both goals were achieved. In 1990, Robert toured with Stars Of Sound Productions and was dead set for another tour, but fate has a way of popping it's nose into things. The program was cut by the Department of Defense. This left Tops in Blue the only goal to achieve. Robert was reluctant to try out for it because his allegiance was with Stars Of Sound Productions. But after a year of trying, in 1994, Robert was selected to tour with Tops in Blue. And as stated before, fate steps in and Robert was removed from the tour. And once again, opportunities seemed to dry up for him. So Robert announced his "retirement" from entertainment altogether in 1995. He said he would never do a live show again. And he kept to his word until one day, while living in Great Britain, he stumbled upon a dark figure...well not so dark, but the man heard Robert performing at a Karaoke night and asked him why didn't he try to get into the business. Robert was given contact information and the ball started rolling quickly. After finding the people who could actually help him, Robert decided to start his own business. He checked on the status of a name dear to his heart, "Stars of Sound Productions" and found it was legal for him to use it. He then changed the name by one word so as to not cause any heartache amongst other former members of "Stars Of Sound Productions." In 2002, 'Stars Of Sound Entertainment' went from the drawing board to full production. Its main focus was getting Robert known. Expansion into other fields of entertainment and other artists are in the planning stages at the moment. But Robert is ready to set the United Kingdom on fire. Since virtually building his own home recording studio, ThunderStorm Studio, he has put together a few original songs under his new company name, Robert L Hughes Entertainment. He has completed work on his third CD, Undercover Lover. Robert's shows are full of romance, energy and entertainment. He commands the audience's attention from the very first note to the end of his encores. He is a highly-sought artist in the UK and is currently working on expanding his base further. He hopes to be heard by the world. Robert's future looks shinier and brighter than it ever has before. Look for this up and coming artist in a venue near you.
